Why the Da Vinci Code Doesn’t Work
“It’s no secret that the HowStuffWorks staff likes to take things apart and see what makes them tick. Some of us are also the kind of sticklers who point out science and technology mistakes in TV shows and movies, much to the chagrin of the people listening. But when we heard about the controversy surrounding “The Da Vinci Code,” we couldn’t resist picking it apart.”
My husband loves to do stuff like this and came up with his own list of things that didn’t make sense in the book. Did you spot anything that seemed… just a bit off??
Personally, I simply read it for the shear entertainment. :)

Considering it’s fiction, I read the book for the entertainment too ;) And enjoyed it. Fast-paced, a bit of suspense, and conspiracy theorist.
Now, books on Templars, treasure, Jesus, and such, that claim to be non-fiction.. those I’ll happily create mental lists of Stuff That’s Odd. :D

Do you plan to see the movie or do you like to preserve the picture in your mind of what happened in the book??

The movie has had such mixed reviews, with the majority saying it’s the most awful thing they’ve watched in a long time, that I’ll wait for it to come out on DVD. I like the subject of the Templars and all the different suppositions people have about what happened to them, where the treasure went, Da Vinci, Jesus, the Masons, and have read a lot of different books on the matter over the years. So even if the movie is different than the book I won’t mind. I’ll just mind if it really is dull and stupid and I waste two hours of my life on it. LOL
