I have never actually cooked a Thanksgiving dinner in my life. I never really had to. I was lucky enough to marry a British guy who once thought of becoming a chef. He didn’t go in that direction for his career, but he still loves to cook. Me, I much prefer to bake. In fact just yesterday I baked a cake.
Okay, the cake came from a box and so did the frosting, but I had an awfully busy day yesterday. But most of the time, I do prefer baking from scratch!

In the later years, Dad used to always eat dessert first and then follow that up with the proper dinner and Mom never said a word. I can’t imagine how he managed to do that, but it seemed to work for him lol…
