Mod or Fraud

Mod or Fraud

Just a little quiz to see just how clever you are. You will find a series of two photos at a time. It is your job to decide if they are really from the mod era or are they complete frauds. To be quite honest… I goofed on a more than a couple.

Your Own Magnetic Poetry Set

Your Own Magnetic Poetry Set

I always meant to go and get one of these for the refrigerator, but for some reason haven’t gotten around to it. But, that’s not saying that I never will.

And with this one, I think that I will need a dictionary close by, but the site I’m sending you today keeps everything handy right on your computer screen!

Glasses Made Out of Paper Money aka Origami

Glasses Made Out of Paper Money aka Origami

This had to take the guy hours and hours, but if you have a few crisp dollar bills, who knows what you can create!

I’m thinking of a few grandfathers that could keep the grandchildren amused for hours. So here are the instructions! And if the kids suddenly want ice cream… just hand over the glasses to the ice cream man.

Make Your Own Flip Flops… I’m Talking Soap

Make Your Own Flip Flops… I’m Talking Soap

You probably expected me to have a how-to for making your own sandals, but that’s not the case today. I was doing a bit of surfing and found these soap molds. Now how cute are these!

Just think how cool your bathrooms will look in the summer complete with flip flops in the soap dish!

How Many Different Ways Can You Do It??

How Many Different Ways Can You Do It??

To be quite honest, I thought that you tied your shoes just one simple way and that was pretty much it. But Ian worked it out mathematically and came up with about 2 trillion.
While he’s not going to post that many on his site for obvious reasons, he does have about 31 different ways to tie your laces! I’m going to have to check this out. I must have a pair of sneakers somewhere that I can practice on!!

Thirteen Things I Wonder About Regarding Blogging.

Thirteen Things I Wonder About Regarding Blogging.

I went surfing this morning and picked up a new site for my Bloglines… The site is called Tia and she thinks pretty much along the same line as me… Actually I have been meaning to do this Thursday Thirteen idea, but the day always gets away from me before I get around to it. I will shoot for 13 things I have been thinking about for this coming Thursday. But don’t hold your breath.
This morning she talks about blogging and how complicated/pecular it can be to someone new… Here are a couple of the things she …read more

Free Genealogical Data Bases

Free Genealogical Data Bases

I only wish that I had the time to really dig into my family history, but there simply doesn’t seem to be enough hours in a day for stuff like this. But I thought that I would pass this along for those of you who are more organized that I seem to be.

From what I can gather, there are different data bases available each day and someone who will even do the looking for you. I plugged in one name and now I’m waiting to see if anything shows up.
How far have you managed to get with your family …read more

The Snackulator

The Snackulator

No I never heard of it either, but here’s how it works. First of all, you have to love cheese and who doesn’t? Then you plug into the Snackulator how talented you are, how many people will be eating and how long you have to whip up your snack.

And even if you scarcely know where the kitchen is, it will come up with a snack for you! I know because I tried!

The Time Zone Check

The Time Zone Check

Too little sleep has done this to me… but this site is really interesting. You can pass your cursor over any spot on the planet and it tells you what time it is! Did you know that as I type this entry, it’s 4:19 in the afternoon in London England! Where I am, it’s not even lunch time yet.
Yes, it must be too little sleep, but the site is really cool and is the perfect addition to “Websites of Interest!

Crochet = Play For Me

Crochet = Play For Me

I was almost going to apologize for playing a few minutes ago. I actually stopped working long enough to see what some of my fellow B5 bloggers were writing about.
As a crocheter, the first site I went to visit was Chloe’s “Hankering For Yarn”. I’m a crocheter from way back and I’m always looking for something new to crochet
As far as unusual things that I have crocheted in the past, I think the award would have to go to my plants. Yes, I found patterns in the 80s for crocheted cacti… of every shape and size. And yes, I just …read more
