The dogma states that dreams are associated with REM sleep but the evidence for this is not strong. Subjects awakened during REM sleep usually report having been dreaming but since REM sleep is not as deep as non-REM sleep, it would be expected that dreams are better remembered but not necessarily more common during REM sleep. Some neurologists even group mental phenomena such as daydreaming under the umbrella of dreaming.”

During a typical lifetime a person spends about 6 years dreaming (which is about 2 hours each night.

What do you dream about and did your dreams ever come true? Problem is… no one does anything about it.

The window guy assures me that it is because the house is settling. Like whoa there. People have been building houses for zillions of years. Windows simply don’t pop out and fall to the ground… He didn’t have anything to say to that.

Well, he did give us a temporary window and promised to be back tomorrow with the proper window.

We shall see.

Next month we have hired an inspector come in and take a really good look at the house for year end. I can’t wait for his list of what’s wrong with it. That means I will have a ton of service guys under foot yet again. You know I’m getting about this close to getting everything fixed and then selling. And it won’t be a brand new house this time.

Post from: Daily Jots

Okay… Today a Window Fell Out

Daily Jots

The Future

Weird Stuff

I was hoping that all of the things that could go wrong with house were behind us, but apparently not. Before The Da Vinci Code, the Mona Lisa, the Madonna of the Rocks, and the Last Supper were paintings we’d always known about but never really looked at properly. Simply by adding a little intrigue, some clues hidden in the symbolism of a painting, and the promise of a treasure hunt, an artist who died centuries ago captured the imagination of twenty-first century readers.

So, imagine what a well-planned treasure hunt could do to help your heirs understand who you were. In fact, I think you’ll have so much fun planning this, you’ll want to hold the treasure hunt while you’re still alive to watch the mayhem! (Consider springing the search as a twenty-first, thirtieth, fortieth, etc, birthday gift.)”

I never thought of doing something like this, but it sounds like heaps of fun. Now, I just have to find the time to do it. Just imagine your great, great, great daughter spending hours and hours trying to figure you out! Now, my own daughter hasn’t even done that… hmmm, this could be fun!

Source

Post from: Daily Jots

Ray Bans

Aging

Daily Jots

Gardens

The Future

Women

“Most people only think about sunscreen when they’re on vacation, but applying sun protection should be a daily habit, even in the winter. Yes, I knew that all those little minutes added up… just not that much. So, I think that I will do as my landscape Designer daughter does… she applies her suncreen in the morning before she even leaves the house and then takes the bottle with her for touch ups if needed.

I have a feeling that she is going to have the most gorgeous skin by the time she is in her forties! This morning I noticed her even putting it on her ear lobes!

Source

Post from: Daily Jots
