Unless your family is huge, holidays can be few and far between. That’s why I particularly like these weird holidays that I try to track down for you every day. But if for some reason, the day’s holiday doesn’t work for you, simply go out and make up one of your own. For example, as I look out the window, the view almost takes your breath away. Bannock for Indian Summer Day

Bannock for Indian Summer Day

3 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon salt
2 tablespoons baking powder
1/4 cup butter, melted
1 1/2 cups water
Place all dry ingredients into a bowl and mix well. There is nothing worse than biting into a wedge of bannock and finding a lump of baking powder.
Add melted butter and water. I find that a large metal bowl seems to work the best. It takes less water for some reason.
