If you have been following the saga of my falling apart house, well, I have an update for you. Last month, we had a home inspector come in and do a thorough going over it. We knew that there was a lot of things wrong, but it never hurts to get an expert in. Well, he was with us most of the day and left with 9 pages of code violations or things that needed to be addressed. And none of them were cosmetic!

Well, the building inspector just left, after writing up nine pages of code violations or problems that he thought needed attention. And most of them were biggies… like the stairs to the loft need replacing. How on earth can builders screw up that badly?
I’m going to put it out of mind for the rest of the day. Instead, I am going to make myself a huge mug of cocoa and then top it with a huge dollop of chocolate whipped cream.

You know that I’ve been having this issue with my teeth lately… they just are as white as they used to be and it’s driving me nuts. I very nearly gave up coffee, but that went out the window… but I have cut back and I’ve tried drinking it through a straw (at least at home). And then I have this whitening gel I’ve been using. It’s hot, I’m tired and I’m cranky. What I need is a personal chef to come into the kitchen while I’m up here working and prepare dinner. He’s going to have to make a quick trip to the supermarket, so he might as well pick up a bottle of wine while he’s out. I know that there are no rules anymore, but make it white anyway so it can be cold. It seems like the perfect way to end yet another day with workmen under my feet!

I’m going to pretend that I’m sitting in an incredibly comfortable lawn chair and this is what I can see ahead of me. I’m not going to think about windows that won’t close, cold cellar that leaks, front door that the builders screwed up and trim that doen’t match the oak. How can someone mistake birch trim for oak?
I’m ranting again aren’t I?

I’m calming down… I really am, but there are times when my patience is at about zero and I would simply like to scream. Today is one of those days. And I had been doing so well. I have cut back to 1/2 cup of coffee in the morning and then again at 3pm! Today, I think that I will be needing more. Here is what has me so ticked today.
