Today’s Field Trip - Strange Museums

Tuesday, February 20th, 2007

hall of fame If you are anywhere near Titusville, Florida, you just might want to check out the American Police Hall of Fame and Museum. If you are planning a crime or mystery novel, you might be able to use a lot of this stuff. Inside, you will find some pretty gruesome crime scene photos, and if you have ever wondered what an electric chair looks like… they have one of those on display!

You can book yourself a session in the gun range with instruction thrown in as well. (See The Big Ticket Below)

Obviously, this is not your average museum and the perfect place to do a bit of research! But if you aren’t near Titusville, Florida, check in our own home town. There are zillions of exhibits that usually pass by the people who actually live in the area. We usually leave the museums and touristy stuff for vacationers! To be honest, I can’t remember the last time I visited our own city’s museum!

“Admission
Adults: $12
Kids 4-12: $8
Senior Citizens & Military: $8
Law Enforcement Officers: Free*
Family Survivors: Free
Members: Free*

* Guests - Half Price

BIG TICKET
If your looking for some major excitement then you want the BIG TICKET! The BIG TICKET is only $40 per person and features museum admission, 50 rounds of 9mm action in the gun range with free instruction and a 150 mile per hour helicopter ride! The BIG TICKET is available Tues. thru Sat. Museum admission, gun range activities and helicopter rides may each be purchased individually”

snow cat

Everyone makes snowmen, so for today, I thought that I would see if I could find a how to on something just a little different. And this is what I found… a snowcat. Now get out there and build yourself one. Chances are, your yard will be the only one featuring a snowcat instead of a snowman! It will be sure to catch a little attention.

Gotta Love the Mall at Christmas

Call of the Mall : The Geography of Shopping by the Author of Why We BuyI really can’t imagine how there are people out there who don’t like shopping?? And especially like this time of year, but I have to admit, Britt and I were at the mall on Thursday (I missed a day!!) and we saw so many women who obviously weren’t having a good time. Now tell me, what is there not to like?? You shop, you have lunch, you shop some more, you have coffee and then you might even decide to go out for dinner to top off the entire night.

But Britt and I were good on Thursday. We actually decided to go home for dinner. G was on a business trip, so he would never have known lol… But we did go home and made a salad and Monte Christo sandwiches.

Thank God for a daughter who likes to cook! ;) And here’s to many more shopping days before Christmas!

I have shopping bags under my eyes

The Shopping Bags: Tips, Tricks, and Inside Information to Make You a Savvy ShopperI don’t know if I can blame it on all of the shopping I have been doing lately, or it’s the fact that I have been waking up at 3:30 am every morning wide awake!! And this morning is no different, so I decided that I would see if there is something that I could do about them that does not require less shopping.

Well, the first thing that I read was about putting a bag of frozen peas against the area. Yes, that would work lol…, but maybe an cooling eye gel mask with a 15 minute break would work. And it seems that I have to change my makeup as well. Everything has to suddenly be applied to draw the eye up (and away from my bags) and here is something I didn’t know. Apparently a zinc-oxide ointment will held delate the bags. Must try that one!!

Any tricks that you would like to share??

Coffee Top of the List for Weird Stuff

Sunday, November 26th, 2006

Rich Diesslins Funny General - Editorial Cartoons - Gone with the Wind - Bad Breath - Mouse PadsAnd you might be wondering why?? Well, most of us have wondered on occasion if our breath is enough to send people running. So, I went looking to see what the worse culprets were and did you know that coffee is high on the list of things that can contribute to bad breath! Now add alcohol, sugary mints and of course onions, garlic, curry and here’s my all time favorite… brussel sprouts!!

Finally, I have a reason to say no thanks to that vegetable. Have I ever mentioned how much I hate brussel sprouts? And everyone else in the family loves them!

Thanksgiving Dinner with Turkey and Pie
Here’s to a great day and an even better dinner. I can’t wait until someone can come up with a computer that provides you with the scents of special holidays. I can almost smell that turkey from where I’m sitting, but not quite! ;)

Happy Thanksgiving :)

Today’s Weird Holiday… Sore Feet Day

Tuesday, November 21st, 2006

HoMedics BL-300 JetSpa Deluxe Foot Bath with Super Quiet Bubbles, 4 Powerful Jets, Spinning Pedicure and 3 AttachmentsIf your feet have been driving you nuts the last few days, it’s because it’s today’s holiday. Mine have been doing just that. There will be days when absolutely nothing is wrong and then straight out of the blue, my ankle will suddenly give out and I can’t walk on it. I wonder if it has anything to do with all the Christmas shopping that I have been doing lately??

At the moment, a good foot massage would feel awfully good, but since there is no one at home to indulge me, I think that I will probably pull out the foot bath, fill it full of warm water and grab a novel for a half hour or so!
