Do you believe that your dreams mean something? Could it be that your dreams are trying to tell you something?? There has to be some reason we dream don’t you think??

“There is no universally agreed-upon biological definition of dreaming. The dogma states that dreams are associated with REM sleep but the evidence for this is not strong. Subjects awakened during REM sleep usually report having been dreaming but since REM sleep is not as deep as non-REM sleep, it would be expected that dreams are better remembered but not necessarily more common during REM sleep. Some neurologists even group mental phenomena such as daydreaming under the umbrella of dreaming.”

During a typical lifetime a person spends about 6 years dreaming (which is about 2 hours each night.

Prepare yourself to be scared silly. Yes, I’m still on my Halloween theme… So here goes…

“The McRaven House was used as the Union headquarters during Siege of Vicksburg in the Civil War. The house was used by Captain McPherson, a former resident of the city. McPherson served as the liaison between the occupying troops and the residents of Vicksburg. One night, McPherson failed to return from his usual rounds and was declared missing. A search was started, but the captain was nowhere to be found.”

But guess who is haunting the place now and wants to tell the story of his murder to anyone he can find to listen. But he’s not the only ghost to walk the halls of this house. A woman with long brown hair has also been seen. No one is sure who she is.

Unfortunately, the house is not open to the public as a family actually lives there. I wonder what stories they have to tell??

I wonder if you can take a workaholic and turn her into a summer loafer? Yes, today is one of those days when I think that I could easily curl up in one of those chairs and drift off to sleep. I’m just not in the mood to work and that is not like me at all. I can’t remember the last time that I sat and did nothing! And sleep during the day… unheard of!

But I do remember that I dreamt non-stop all last night. I wonder if that can exhaust you the next day. I really feel as if I didn’t sleep at all?? I have always had a fascination with dreaming. I wonder how much there is that we don’t know! Why don’t they teach you stuff like that in school?

So, that would mean that we need to do an extra good turn or two each day right? And those thoughtless words that we utter without a thought for feelings that we might hurt? I think that we are going to have to be more careful in the future. It take’s so little to be kind to someone.

We vacationed in Porthcurno, Cornwall a few years ago and the woman who lived next door to our rented house (which Britt is still convinced was haunted) told me about the Ley Lines that were apparently criss crossing over a near by town. Now I vaguely knew what ley lines were but here is a bit more information before I continue the story…

“Ley lines are alleged alignments of ancient sites or holy places, such as stone circles, standing stones, cairns, and churches. Interest in ley lines began with the publication in 1922 of Early BritishDrombeg, Co. Cork; Photo by Leslie Carroll Trackways by Alfred Watkins (1855-1935), a self-taught amateur archaeologist and antiquarian. Based upon the fact that on a map of Blackwardine, near Leominster, England, he could link a number of ancient landmarks by a series of straight lines, he became convinced that he had discovered an ancient trade route. Interest in these alleged trade routes as sources of mystical energy has become very popular among New Agers in Great Britain.”

Anyway, we visited this little town and I did my best to “pick up” on energy or whatever I was suppose to feel… but nothing. I have a feeling that maybe it was because it was a busy day in the tiny village or something was simply getting in the way.

We all loved Cornwall and chances are, we will return, but the house we rent has to be brand new. The back bedroom even creeped me out.

The first thing I noticed was the word… balance. That word seems to show up in my life over and over again. I obviously don’t know the meaning of the word! I’m drawn to work. As I type this, I haven’t even gone downstairs to breakfast. It was straight into my office to turn on the computer. One thing lead to the next and here I am working!
It seems that I’m also going to have to work on the materialistic part… but that has to be why I’m the ShopaholicsDaily and Her Accessories writer her at B5media…

]]> I have only seen one solar eclipse. It was either in the late 70s or early 80s; I was working on the 7th floor of an office building and it was an excellent view (not of the sun of course, because you can’t look at that directly) but of the planet below (granted, a very small piece of the planet). All of the street lights came on, everyone had to turn their headlights on – it was a slice of night in the middle of the day.

I can understand why cultures viewed eclipses as something very mysterious and as having great spiritual significance. After all, what could possibly block out the rays of the sun? What could it mean? And, human nature, being what it is, thought it had to be bad.

Today we know that it is merely the moon passing between the earth and the sun. But, a fragment of that primordial fear lingers. The eclipse is big news! It is a rare occurrance and just between you and me, it is kind of scary.

It is scary because it proves to us how very small we all are, in a universal, cosmic sort of way.

It really is quite amazing – which just goes to show, I am caught up in all of it just as much as anyone else. And besides, I love it when the government does something that doesn’t tick me off. Understand the time differences in the world or you could miss the whole thing!! It starts at 5:00am Eastern Standard Time, 2:00am Pacific Standard Time, March 29th. Here is a World Clock – bookmark it – you won’t need it just for the eclipse – with the Internet, this is a necessity!!

Some news about the eclipse lets us know that eclipses still have mystery surrounding them. A South African newspaper said, “One Indian paper advised pregnant women not to go outside during the eclipse to avoid having a blind baby or one with a cleft lip. Food cooked before the eclipse should be thrown out afterwards because it will be impure and those who are holding a knife or axe during the eclipse will cut themselves.” Another newspaper notes that half of the world will not be able to see the eclipse, but announced that NASA will webcast it for people on the Internet to watch.

The online Hindu Newspaper has some interesting facts about eclipses – “Nearly identical eclipses (total, annual, or partial) occur after 18 years and 11 days, or every 6,585.32 days (Saros Cycle)” – that was something I didn’t know.

This really has my mind preoccupied.  I have mulling it around a fair bit the past few days.  I decided – what the heck, I’ll do a web search on it.  Wow, a lot of people are trying to think outside of the box, or in some cases, trying to try.  It seems more of us are encased within the box than I possibly could have imagined.

I found a very interesting site today.  It is called Ellie Crystal’s Metaphysical and Science Web site.  Now this isn’t my usual hangout, me being Catholic and all.  But that isn’t to say the metaphysical community has nothing to offer.  Far from it!  Mysticism and metaphysics are two sides of the same coin, and Catholics are no strangers to mysticism.  So, I think this site may have some gems within it.  I do know it will take me a long time to explore.

Anyway, today I present to you some metaphysical ideas on “Thinking Outside of the Box.“  I am, by no means, through with my analysis of this page; I think it could take quite some time to study it and really grasp the concepts.  But I believe it is time well-spent.

I’ll have more on Ellie Crystal as time goes by.  She has an extensive site with some fascinating information.  I hope you will visit her.
