I like the way that woman thinks! So, what dishes are you planning on serving for Thanksgiving?? We have already had our Thanksgiving, but I’m thinking strongly of celebrating it again. My uncle actually said that he puts his Christmas tree up on Thanksgiving Thursday. And he’s not American either lol…
Yup, I have another one and some of you might like it and others might hate it. It’s no beard day. Has your husband ever decided to grow a beard? Mine has but got tired of it when the warm weather set in, but I have a story for you.
A few years ago one of the teachers at our school returned in September with a few days growth. We never thought anything of it. But the next day… still unshaven. This went on for a few weeks and as much as we wondered, he wouldn’t say a word. He kept his secret and his beard grew in more and more until Halloween rolled around. The day of the school parties, he came in dressed as half man, half woman. He had been growing the beard for just this reason. And yes, on October 31st, the part that was the woman was freshly shaved lol…
Have you noticed just how many good looking bald guys there are wondering around? When I was younger, I never expected to find them attractive, but lately, my tastes have changed. So, if you have been noticing that your hair is getting thinner, well, it’s not that big a deal. Actually, a lot of women just might find you more attractive because of it!!
And of course, I have to mention Cory’s Baldiness site. And then there is Mike Holmes again. ;)
Today, I have a little project for you. For the next 12 hours or so, you are going to do absolutely nothing. Well nothing that is work related anyway. Just sit back and enjoy life. That’s where this video comes in. I actually sat for the entire 6 plus minutes and watched a video called… The Last Knit. It’s not as if I’m a knitter, because I’m not, but I couldn’t help wondering where it would go, especially for six minutes.
And if I find that a video doesn’t hold my attention, I’m not above hitting the cancel button, but not with this one. It was well made and entertaining. Enjoy! Here’s to a great first Sunday in October as well as my brother’s birthday.

You know, this must be a guy thing. I can’t ever remember crushing a can, but I did see a gadget once that would flatten a can to almost nothing. I will have to see if I can find a picture of it.
**Obviously I did. I also found one that does one can at a time. What have I been missing all of these years??

We were a strange little band of characters trudging through life sharing diseases and toothpaste, coveting one another’s desserts, hiding shampoo, borrowing money, locking each other out of our rooms, inflicting pain and kissing to heal it in the same instant, loving, laughing, defending, and trying to figure out the common thread that bound us all together.

Did you ever read comic books when you were a kid? I was never a big fan, but I do think that I read Archie. There were a couple of girls in that storyline right?? A Veronica comes to mind, but that’s about all I can remember.
I wonder how much one of the early Archie comic books would be worth now? I know that Britt has a box full of really old ones that someone gave to her. She might be sitting on a gold mine and not even know it!
Any old comic books collecting dust in your attic??
We are usually so busy thinking about what we have to do next week, that we spend little or no time thinking about the incredible people that we have met through the years. One person who has made the biggest impression on me would be my Uncle Stan. If anyone can put a smile on your face or always finds the time to put family first, it would be that man!
That’s right, today is officially Checkers Day. I have to admit that I haven’t played in years and I don’t even know if we still have a checkers board. But, I just might have to invest in one. How expensive can they be these days? Actually, my daughter is decorating her room in all things dragons, so I wonder if she would want a dragon checker set. It certainly makes more sense (from a mother’s point of view) than those little shot glass checker board games.
Now on the other hand, those shot glass games might work if we fill the shot glasses with Smarties?? Hey, that’s working for me. Here’s to a game where chocolate is the prize!!
Have your meals been just a wee bit boring lately? Maybe this will make it more interesting. You can serve Elephant Stew. Yes, I found a recipe. Unfortunately it feeds 3500 people, so you had better invite some friends over to help celebrate the day. Once the stew has been dished out, you can share elephant stories. You do have a few right?? And then to finish it off, you can serve elephant cookies for dessert.
Now does that sound like the makings of a fun night or what??
