Britney on Madonna bandwagon?

...Baby One More Time [ENHANCED CD]
“Despite already having two young children on her own, Britney Spears is reportedly considering adding another addition to her young family.

The pop star has allegedly hinted that she would like to adopt an underprivileged African child, after witnessing the goodwill of her mentor Madonna.”

What do you think about all of this celebrity adoption? Do you think that it is a publicity stunt, they are actually interested in the welfare of the children or are you still sitting on the fence about this one??

POSH JEANS SPLIT

Monday, October 16th, 2006

Let Your Head Go/This Groove [UK CD1]“VICTORIA Beckham has split with trendy designers Rock and Republic - to go it alone with her own jeans firm.

The Californian-based firm signed a £250,000 deal with Posh in September 2004 but will no longer produce the former Spice Girl’s VB range.

Instead Victoria, 32, will launch her own range of jeans under her and 31-year-old husband David’s VDB label - the new cornerstone of Brand Beckham - early next year. ”

When I first read about this, the first thing I thought about was loyalty. Doesn’t that exist any longer for celebrities? Are they quite content to let people help them and then show them the door when they are no longer needed? And then I read this…

A source said: “They believe R&R are an internationally-recognised brand and they don’t need Victoria. She helped them shift a lot of jeans but they’re happy to part company.”

It sounds as if Rock and Republic is doing the same thing. She helped them to build up there name and now they don’t need her?? It’s kind of sad to think that loyalty has gone out the window, but maybe that is how the business world works, I don’t know?? I do hope that we don’t see that happening in the “real world” if you can call the life of a regular person… the “real world”. Sometimes I don’t know anymore.

Families Are Funny That Way

Tuesday, September 26th, 2006

Inside My Heart: Choosing to Live with Passion and PurposeThe family. We were a strange little band of characters trudging through life sharing diseases and toothpaste, coveting one another’s desserts, hiding shampoo, borrowing money, locking each other out of our rooms, inflicting pain and kissing to heal it in the same instant, loving, laughing, defending, and trying to figure out the common thread that bound us all together.

~Erma Bombeck

And I wouldn’t trade even one of the “little band of characters” that make up my family.

How Full Is Your Bucket?

How Full Is Your Bucket? Positive Strategies for Work and LifeWe are usually so busy thinking about what we have to do next week, that we spend little or no time thinking about the incredible people that we have met through the years. One person who has made the biggest impression on me would be my Uncle Stan. If anyone can put a smile on your face or always finds the time to put family first, it would be that man!

Thought for Today… Compliment Someone

Friday, September 22nd, 2006

Stumbling on HappinessSay something nice to somebody… anybody today. It might be the only compliment they have received all month and that is incredibly sad. It takes so little to make a difference in someone’s life. Just a few warm words is all that is required. Unfortunately, we rush through life at such a rate, that we don’t stop for what is really important.

Today’s Thought for the Day

Thursday, September 21st, 2006

Most people don’t like to be told what to do regardless of their age. And the same people probably don’t like being told what they can’t do either. In my mind, the best thing to do is allow them to do things their way. Who knows what they can come up with when they are left alone. And from experience, most people will probably ask for help if they want it.

About Your Comfort Zone

Tuesday, September 5th, 2006

Living in the Comfort ZoneI was just reading that it isn’t a good thing to stay in your comfort zone, but at the moment, that is about the only place I feel safe. ;) You know about my falling windows and the update a day later . I have no idea what is coming next. So at the moment, I like things to stay in neat little boxes. I’m not big on change right now.

Ask me next year, and I might feel completely different. But here’s something. Through all of the problems with the house, I still haven’t had a cup of coffee! I just realized that!!

If you could ask your grandfather one thing, what would it be??

World War 1 in ColorMy own grandfather fought in the First World War, was captured and then escaped from a prison camp and made it home in one piece. I don’t know why it never occurred to me to ask him to tell us stories when we were growing up, but I never thought of it.

What a waste!

So what would you ask your grandfather if you had the chance?

The Dragonfly Picture Frame

Sunday, June 25th, 2006

dragonfly frame

Seeing this frame just reminded me of how many photos are stuck in boxes or photo albums and never enjoyed. I have tons of wall space in the new house. Maybe I should fill them up with photos that we have collected over the years.

And if you have been watching my other blogs, yes, I’m still on the Dragonfly kick. Something or someone is trying to tell me something!!

Who are Angels… Really??

Monday, June 19th, 2006

Ange gardien II
We are one another’s angels… unknown

So, that would mean that we need to do an extra good turn or two each day right? And those thoughtless words that we utter without a thought for feelings that we might hurt? I think that we are going to have to be more careful in the future. It take’s so little to be kind to someone.
