Britt and her dad were interested in burning calories after dinner, I was looking for a little bit of Christmas decorating inspiration. None of us are too keen on climbing up and stringing lights, and that seems to be all I saw last night. But I do have a small garden at the front of the house, so this candy cane fence might be one way of decorating our yard.

And from what I have been reading, the little fence looks as good during the day as it does at night, so that is a bonus. So, maybe a candy cane theme for the rest of the house might work as well?? I will have to see if I can find a wreath for the front door that features candy canes and maybe something for the garage doors as well.

I do like the idea of a theme though! Just have to decide what theme it’s going to be. So, I am one step closer to deciding!

Post from: Daily Jots

The Thanksgiving Table

Daily Jots

Decorating

Diningroom

Thanksgiving

Wish List

I know that you could use your regular dishes, but there is just something special about getting out holiday dishes that you only use once a year. All of your decorating needs are going to be at full price. But I came across this article just a few minutes ago and it makes perfect sense. You simply go through your house and use what you already have. And you might be thinking right about now that you have nothing that would work. After reading through these ideas, you might be pleasantly surprised. Here’s just a snipit…

“As the sunny summer fades out and we enter autumn, it’s time to give your home a look that captures the spirit of the season, adding spice and warmth to your home in a simple, natural way. Whether you’re spreading pumpkins and gourds around your kitchen or porch, or adorning your sofa with soft, warm blankets, you’ll find that it’s small touches that go a long way when decorating for the fall.

This year look to the outdoor autumn world for inspiration when you decorate. Why go out and buy plastic decorations when you can find almost everything you need right in nature? Let’s face it, some Halloween decorations can be downright gaudy. Not only will do-it-yourself decorating save you money, but the look you achieve will be more natural, refined, and last in your home long after Halloween has passed. Plus, you can tap into your creativity with hands-on decorating, a fun way to get you into the fall spirit. Get outside and take this opportunity to enjoy the outdoors before the cold of winter moves in.”

Seasonal Notebooks: Summer, Fall, Winter, Spring

More Ways to Decorate

Post from: Daily Jots

5 Ways to Decorate For Fall

Daily Jots

Decorating

How To

It’s almost time to start packing away summer and while it’s too early to start decorating for Halloween, I wanted to do something to show off the changing season.
