Well actually the idea of managing your time could apply to everyone, not just the writer. I guess the more I think about it, the more I realize that it’s not about managing time so much as learning to manage ourselves. That is the key and I noticed it even more so while on holiday. I am definitely a person who is governed by routine. Not sure if that is a good thing or a bad thing!

That’s all you have… twenty minutes to kick back and do just what you want to do. So, what’s it going to be? Believe it or not, I actually have a book about that very topic. Yes, I do collect a lot of books and sometimes I even open them up to see what they are about!
I just noticed that it’s listed for $2.99! I just looked at the back of the book and I paid $18.95. Guess I should have waited!

I was thumbing through an issue of Shine Magazine that I picked up in England in 2000! Yes, I have a tendency to hoard my magazines. You just never know what words of wisdom will pop out at you the next time you open the pages… even if it is six years down the road!

I went surfing this morning and picked up a new site for my Bloglines… The site is called Tia and she thinks pretty much along the same line as me… Actually I have been meaning to do this Thursday Thirteen idea, but the day always gets away from me before I get around to it. Some of us are also the kind of sticklers who point out science and technology mistakes in TV shows and movies, much to the chagrin of the people listening. Does that mean that if I like routine, I’m not going to grow as a person?? I’m not quite sure how I feel about this. I like routine. I don’t find anything negative about doing the same thing day in and day out. I like to know what I have to do so that I can do it.

I spent a little little while listening to music that takes me back to a decade when music was amazing. Okay, I might be the only one who likes 80’s music, but the kids were little and I guess I listened to a lot of it.
Now how could you not like Kate Bush? And I might even pull out an old copy of Wuthering Heights and re-read it. Kate Bush in this video makes a great Cathy don’t you think? See, I can play when I put my mind to it!

I know that this sounds dumb, but just how much running around have you done already today?
As I write this, I have…
- chopped all the vegetables for tonight’s pizza
- watered all of the plants in the garden
- entered blog entries for nine blogs
- in the middle of researching material for tomorrow’s blog entries
- climbed stairs for 15 minutes straight
- and I’m typing this while taking care of my 10:30 snack (necessary for a diabetic and I’m late!

There are a lot of quotations books – good ones – but every now and then one comes along that is absolutely inspired. I found this book in, of all places, Walmart; I picked up a copy, and then another copy for a gift… well, I could have bought a dozen. It really is that good.
The book is titled, “Patches of Godlight,” and is “written” by Father Tim Kavanagh. I put the author’s name in quotes because the author is a character in the well loved “Mitford Series,” written by Jan Karon. All of the books …read more
