While I like deep, rich colors, they can be a giant pain in the butt. We choose a color called Garnet for our kitchen/family room and yes, it is deep, rich and absolutely gorgeous, but it took at least six coats of paint to get it that way. Apparently the more red in the paint, the harder it is to use.
