How do you feel about love?

Monday, October 30th, 2006

I don’t know if anyone can really own up to being a cynic, but I found a quote for you to ponder…

Do you want me to tell you something really subversive? Love is everything i’t cracked up to be. That’s why people are so cynical about it. It really is worth fighting for, being brave for, risking everything for. And the trouble is, if you don’t risk everything, you risk even more.
Erica Jong

So, are you a cynic when it comes to love??

How Fear Works

Saturday, October 28th, 2006

fear“It’s dark out, and you’re home alone. The house is quiet other than the sound of the show you’re watching on TV. You see it and hear it at the same time: The front door is suddenly thrown against the door frame.

Your breathing speeds up. Your heart races. Your muscles tighten.

A split second later, you know it’s the wind. No one is trying to get into your home.

For a split second, you were so afraid that you reacted as if your life were in danger, your body initiating the fight-or-flight response that is critical to any animal’s survival. But really, there was no danger at all. What happened to cause such an intense reaction? What exactly is fear?”

I thought that this was a fitting topic for October. So, what are your thoughts on fear? My imagination goes into overdrive when I’m home alone. I really should have been a horror writer!
What scares you?

Aussie inmate tried dieting to escape

Friday, October 20th, 2006

Why Am I Still Depressed? Recognizing and Managing the Ups and Downs of Bipolar II and Soft Bipolar DisorderAn inmate who used laxatives to shed 31 pounds so he could squeeze through a hole in a prison wall had been frustrated by the indefinite sentence he was serving, a judge said Friday.

Robert Cole, 37, spent three days on the run from police in January after slipping his 123-pound frame through a 15-centimetre wide hole he had chiseled with a butter knife in the widow frame of a hospital wing at Sydney’s Long Bay Jail.

Do you have any idea how small a 15 cm wide hole is?? That man really does need treatment and you have to wonder why he was not receiving it before his escape?

“When he escaped, Cole had been serving an indefinite sentence in the prison hospital after a jury found him not guilty of armed robbery in 2003 on the grounds of mental illness.”

Paris Hilton Isn’t Content with Destroying Music; Sets Sights on Film

Thursday, October 19th, 2006

Paris Hilton for Women by Paris Hilton 3.4 oz Eau De Parfum Spray“Paris Hilton is said to be desperately trying to distance herself from her second major film role because she wants to avoid looking like an acting failure. Sorry to break it to ya, Paris, but you’re two movies too late.

The red carpet fixture cancelled her appearance at the premiere of her latest movie, National Lampoon’s Pledge This, and she’s now backing away from doing any promotional duties related to the film, reports the New York Post’s Page Six.”

Am I the only one who feels just a little sorry for her. It seems that anything she tries to do, someone is ready to criticise. It must be extremely difficult to be in the public eye to that extent, but is she partly to blame? If I was Paris, I think that I would just disappear into the woodwork and try to live my life as normally as possible. As normally as one can with the last name Hilton…

Catherine Zeta-Jones Majorly Pissed

Thursday, October 19th, 2006

Darling Buds of May Collection (7pc) Doesn anyone remember Catherine Zeta-Jone’s character from the British series “The Darling Buds of May?” Well, at the moment she is nothing like Mariette. She is big time pissed off at her husband. Here’s what I found this morning.

“Catherine Zeta-Jones is furious with her husband Michael Douglas, after he gushed about his sexy co-stars.

The 62-year-old actor revealed he had a “crush on Kim Basinger” and complimented Eva Longoria on her “fantastic butt” during a recent interview to promote his film ‘The Sentinel’. Michael also proclaimed that “sex is like a wave that sweeps over me”.

However, his 37-year-old Welsh actress wife was not amused by his comments and immediately telephoned him to tell him exactly how she felt.”

So can you blame her? I think that I would be just as “annoyed”?? if my husband began gushing over the women at work. So, I feel for her and I hope that he shapes up. Just because he insists that he would always be faithful to her, he is obviously thinking about the possibilities. I could give him a good smack too!

Steamy sex life won’t let George Clooney run for President!

Monday, October 16th, 2006

george clooney“Hollywood hunk George Clooney foresees his ‘racy past’ as ruining his chances of running for President.

The Ocean’s Thirteen star, who has dated a string of stunning women including Teri Hatcher and Renée Zellweger, feels that he will never run for office, as he’s had too much sex.

“I couldn’t run for office. I’ve slept with far too many women. I have a very keen interest in political issues, but if I decided to run for office there would be a few juicy stories dragged back from the depths,” the Daily Mail quoted the 44-year-old, as saying. ”

Is this for real? Why on earth would he want to give up a career that he is obviously proud of to take on the presidency? If his career was a stepping stone to the Whitehouse, wouldn’t he have thought about that before he turned 44?

Sienna Miller has an attitude

Monday, October 16th, 2006

sienna“According to the tabloids, Sienna Miller has been booted out of a bar in Pittsburgh, where she is currently on location filming.

The Sun states that when a doorman ordered that she would have to produce some proof of age she barked:“I’m Sienna Miller, the famous actress!”

I can only remember once losing my temper with a waiter, and I did feel bad about it later. My only excuse was the fact that I was on my way to my dad’s funeral and it didn’t take very much to send me over the edge that day. But, the poor waiter wouldn’t have known. So, yes, I’ve done it, but it had nothing to do with attitude… well not that kind anyway.

Okay, would you act like this even if you were a celebrity? Have you ever lost it in a restaurant because someone annoyed you? And how would you have acted if you had been that doorman?
