Today’s Weird Holiday – It’s Roots Day – December 23rd

The first thing that I thought of was the fact that maybe my roots need retouching?? Where I live, it certainly can’t have anything to do with growing things… I wish!!
On a different note, we left early this morning for our Christmas holiday in Port Charlotte, Florida. I can’t wait to see my first palm tree. I plan on logging in here on a daily basis, so don’t be a stranger!

My Letter of the Day – December 23

My Letter of the Day – December 23

I have been given a letter from over at “Do I Have to Call It a Blog” and then I have to come up with ten words and what those words mean to me. You are about to see how my mind actually works! My letter is… R.! So, lets see.
1. Rhubarb… brings back tons of memories when I was a kid. During the summer holidays, who had time for lunch… I just broke off a stalk of rhubarb and that was lunch. No wonder I was a skinny kid.
2. Rat… a cute litte cartoon rodent on a …read more

Today’s Weird Holiday

Today’s Weird Holiday

It’s officially “Slip in a Siesta Day”. And that would be because life has been so hectic lately, that we need all the help we can get. And it could have something to do with me having to get up tomorrow morning at 4 am to head to Florida for Christmas.
I will be checking in with you guys as often as I can, but I have lined stuff up to drip on the site. That means there will always be something new for you to check out! And when I can, I will be updating you from sunny …read more

What a writer needs…

What a writer needs…

PATIENCE… which I have very little of these days, but then I read this.
If you add a little to a little, and then do it again, soon that little shall be much.

So, for all of you who have a novel inside of you, maybe this is the way to get it finished.

A Catless Writer…

A Catless Writer…

“A catless writer is almost inconceivable. It’s a perverse taste, really, since it would be easier to write with a herd of buffalo in the room than even one cat; they make nests in the notes and bite the end of the pen and walk on the typewriter keys.”
Barbara Holland
Does this ring true?? I for one, have not even one pet in the house. A puppy… now that would be a big mistake for me. They are just soooo darn cute, I would be too busy playing to get any work done!
Now put me in a restaurant with …read more

If you want to write…

If you want to write…

If you want to write you have to be willing to be disturbed.

Actually, I do some of my best work sitting in a coffee shop. I tend to like the hustle and bustle that is all around me. I guess it comes down to what works best for you. Now the odd thing is that I can’t work at home with the radio on.
Definitely weird!

Today’s Weird Holiday… Cover Anything in Chocolate

Today’s Weird Holiday… Cover Anything in Chocolate

Well, that obviously works for me. Okay, so I’m sure that it could get out of hand. I was just watching this video last night where this toddler decided that she liked things covered in chocolate and then proceeded to drizzle her entire bedroom in chocolate syrup.
Luckily, her parents found it extremely funny… at least on their video. Now, I’m not sure how they would feel once they began to clean up the room. The little girl must gave gone through an entire bottle of the stuff!
Stuff for you writers out there…

Who Plans Christmas in Your Family??

Who Plans Christmas in Your Family??

I just thought that I would put the question out there and see what kind of feedback I get… Here’s the possibilities:
~I do everything
~My partner/husband takes care of most of it.
~It’s a joint effort.
~The entire family pitches in.
So, who is doing all of the fun stuff in your family??
