Today’s Writing Tip
As you know, at the moment I am vacationing in Florida and it occurred to me that the best way to describe something is to take advantage of your surroundings. For example, it has been rather windy the last couple of days and I took the time to watch how the wind affects the palm trees. I could have described them the way I thought that the wind would affect them, but it would be nothing even close to what I would write now that I actually watched them. For example, I really never thought of palm trees looking soft and fluffy and how gently the fronds moved in the wind. Now, I sure that it would look completely different if hurricane force winds were blowing through.
So, if there are any want-a-be writers out there, use what is right around you! You will be amazed at how your writing will sparkle!
