When you are in a miserable mood, wonderful things happen. Like yesterday for example. Nothing was going right. The day was cold and dreary and I wasn’t in the mood to work and then right out of the blue, I hear my doorbell ring. That annoyed me even more because I thought that it had to be workman showing up unannounced to fix/break something else in the house. I very nearly didn’t answer the door. These easy-to-make containers will hold up to a gallon of soup or stew.”This would certainly impress me, but if you want to impress you kids, use it to serve dinner BEFORE Halloween night. On Halloween night, the kids are too anxious to get out onto the streets to even care about what’s for dinner.

Did you ever read comic books when you were a kid? I was never a big fan, but I do think that I read Archie. There were a couple of girls in that storyline right?? A Veronica comes to mind, but that’s about all I can remember.
I wonder how much one of the early Archie comic books would be worth now? I know that Britt has a box full of really old ones that someone gave to her. She might be sitting on a gold mine and not even know it!

We are usually so busy thinking about what we have to do next week, that we spend little or no time thinking about the incredible people that we have met through the years. One person who has made the biggest impression on me would be my Uncle Stan. If anyone can put a smile on your face or always finds the time to put family first, it would be that man!

Yeah, I have another one for you and it just has to be a decadent dessert. Who in this world can’t like cherries. If there was going to be a fruit that I could pig out on… it would be cherries.

That’s right, today is officially Checkers Day. I have to admit that I haven’t played in years and I don’t even know if we still have a checkers board. But, I just might have to invest in one. How expensive can they be these days? Actually, my daughter is decorating her room in all things dragons, so I wonder if she would want a dragon checker set. It certainly makes more sense (from a mother’s point of view) than those little shot glass checker board games.

I find that the best place to write is in the bathtub. I set the clock for an hour and then put the notebook on a low table beside the tub. Laying there soaking, you have nothing to do but relax and think while in the tub and all that thinking can go straight into your journal.

Say something nice to somebody… anybody today. It might be the only compliment they have received all month and that is incredibly sad. It takes so little to make a difference in someone’s life. Just a few warm words is all that is required. Unfortunately, we rush through life at such a rate, that we don’t stop for what is really important.
