Second Update on Giving Up Coffee… Maybe Next Month

Santa Fe Mugs (4.75 Inches), Set of 4I’m calming down… I really am, but there are times when my patience is at about zero and I would simply like to scream. Today is one of those days. And I had been doing so well. I have cut back to 1/2 cup of coffee in the morning and then again at 3pm! Today, I think that I will be needing more. Here is what has me so ticked today.

When we bought our new house, we paid extra for Low E windows. We were thinking that it would help with the astronmical heating bills that we would be seeing with a larger house. Well, we thought that we were doing the right thing.

1. From the time we moved in, the Low E windows were fogging up on the inside… something they weren’t supposed to do. But did the service man believe me?? It said that there was no way that EVERY SINGLE WINDOW could be damaged and on the days that he was visiting, they looked just fine. So, we took photos and had proof. Result… every window in the entire house was removed and replaced… in February. And this is one of our coldest months.

2. Now the windows won’t close if the sun shines on them. It seems that they expand or something. I don’t know, but they won’t close tightly. So, I told the service man. Unfortunately everytime he came, they closed perfectly. Getting ticked off here. I’m not complaining for the good of my health. I told him to write it down and check with head office.

3. He’s here this morning replacing weather stripping around the front door. This is the same door that we had to duct-tape all winter long. They are just getting around to replacing the weather stripping now (the end of July).

4. I asked him if he found out why our windows wouldn’t close. He stared at me for a minute and then said that he forgot to ask. HE FORGOT TO ASK! He wrote it down on his service record but didn’t do a thing about it. I’m ready to throttle him.

Okay, rant over. I’m going down to see if they brought the right weather stripping. They weren’t sure when they arrived!! Okay, I’m back and I will be definitely needing that cup of coffee. He said that the weather stripping SHOULD work. The windows were next. Here’s what he came up with!

The windows weren’t fitting properly because the house is settling and that it is the builder’s responsibility. We have only been here six months and we hear that story over and over… It’s not anyone’s responsibility. How they love to pass the buck!

I’m thinking of buying a FOR SALE sign and just plunking it down in my front yard. But now, I’m just going to pour myself another cup of coffee!
