The Journey of Aging
Thought of the Day:
“It is well for the world that in most of us, by the age of thirty, the character has been set like plaster, and will never soften again.”
William James
OR
“We neither get better or worse as we get older, but more like ourselves.”
Robert Anthony
Thinking Outside of the Box:
These two quotes are fascinating. They represent the two ways people look at aging. One view takes the position that we don’t, or can’t, grow and change. The other says that growth and change are not only inevitable, but desirable as we become more fully individual. I believe in the latter. As the years have gone by, I have changed. Many things have happened that have made me who I am, but I believe I am “closer to me” than I have ever been before. I also believe this will be true for you. The journey ahead will be a challenge, but at the end, you will find you!
Just think about it.
Some Last Thoughts:
“Nature gives you the face you have at twenty; it is up to you to merit the face you have at fifty.”
Coco Chanel
“At twenty years of age, the will reigns; at thirty the wit; at forty the judgment.”
Benjamin Franklin
“How old would you be if you didn’t know how old you was?”
Satchel Paige
“Some reckon their age by years,
Some measure their life by art;
But some tell their days by the flow of their tears
And their lives by the moans of their hearts.”
Abram Joseph Ryan
“Youth is the time for adventures of the body, but age for the triumphs of the mind.” Logan Pearsall Smith
