Thinking Outside of the Box:
It seems appropriate, today especially, to have this quote drop into my lap. Things are changing and for the good because whenever we connect with someone else in a collaborative effort, we do become more than what we thought we could be. Something like the sum is larger than the total of the parts? Blogs were thinking outside of the box at one time. Could you even imagine someone suggesting this idea 20 years ago? Maybe, just maybe, you knew someone who kept a diary but that someone grew up and had an idea. And the idea grew from a diary, got mixed in with some journalism, a bit of op/ed was tossed in for good measure and the unique voice of Generation D (Generation B? B is for blogging – Sesame Street needs a rewrite!) was born. As for me, I thought outside of the box and started blogging. For AboutWeblogs and B5Media, they got a bigger box and now I am sure they will be thinking outside of its boundaries as well. The future is nothing less than exciting!
A Last Thought:
It’s a new day, and we can decide who we want to be. Cast limits aside. Choose different activities, different goals, different friends and associates. Choose consciously. Change stirs anxiety. Wisdom counsels that we move incrementally. We plan to build gradually on the fruits of our decisiveness. We will practice our new resolve day to day, with both consistency and awareness.
