Dancing on the Brain Pan

Thought of the Day:
It is discouraging to try and penetrate a mind like yours. You ought to get it out and dance on it. That would take some of the rigidity out of it.
Mark Twain

Thinking Outside of the Box:
I’m not a big Mark Twain fan. I know many of you are so I apologize for my lack of fondness for the classic American author. Having said that, I know he did have some good things to say, and this is definitely one of them!

I blogged the other day about closed-minded people (the whole Fox Mulder thing) so I guess it must be on my mind. I think Twain was trying to say a couple of things here. The first is obvious – the person he is “talking” to has a rigid mind; won’t adjust, won’t change, won’t see anything other than the narrow view that has always been seen. The other thing he is saying reminds me of that expression, “Dance as though nobody’s watching.”

Dancing is free form, it is an expression, and it frees the spirit. Dancing on your mind would not only loosen it up but would allow the true spirit free. Sounds like fun? Anyone, wanna dance?

A Last Thought:
“Nature abhors a vacuum, and if I can only walk with sufficient carelessness I am sure to be filled.”
Henry David Thoreau
