Attack of the Insidious Crud
Thought of the Day:
“Our faith in the present dies out long before our faith in the future. Health is like money, we never have a true idea of its value until we lose it.”
Josh Billings
Thinking Outside of the Box:
I have been pouting this week, or rather the past couple of days, because I caught what I fondly call, The Crud. The Crud isn’t the flu, it isn’t a bacterial thing like strep, and it isn’t really anything at all. It is just a garden-variety upper respiratory infection guaranteed to bring all of your activities to a screeching halt. You ache too much, you are too hot or too cold, your throat hurts; remember Forrest Gump saying, “Do you have a cough due to cold?” YES! At the times we are ill, we think about everything we have to do – Thanksgiving is coming, work deadlines are approaching, the kids need to go here and there, shopping must be done… the list goes on and on.
The funny part of this is that the list always goes on, regardless of how we feel. If we spent half the time commenting on how good we feel when we are well, as we do on how bad we feel when we are sick, I wonder if that would change the overall attitude of the human condition? Could that much positive energy possibly change the general health condition of everyone on the planet? Interesting thought.
In the meantime… I have The Crud and I don’t want to think about it!
A Last Thought:
“If I had my way I’d make health catching instead of disease.”
Robert Ingersoll
