A Small Gift to Take to Eternity
Thought of the Day:
“One who kisses the joy as it flies, lives in Eternity’s sunrise.”
William Blake
Thinking Outside of the Box:
We, the collective “we” that is, talk a lot about stopping to smell the roses along the way. Enjoy the moment and all of that good stuff. But do we do it? Not really. In today’s society, we are told to do that, we believe we are doing it, but seldom do we actually accomplish it. I once read that a person’s life is not measured in the birth-death dates, but in the hyphen between.
How often on the way home through a busy commute, do we stop and enjoy the sunset? Or on the way out the door, take that extra 15 seconds to spend a moment in a loved one’s hug or receiving a child’s sticky kiss. “Kissing the joy as it flies” is a strong piece of advice; a kiss is brief (romantic kisses, not withstanding), your chance at the moment of joy fleeting; it will fly away as quickly as it flew in, but touched, the effects of that briefest moment will live in our souls throughout eternity. From what I understand, that’s a long time!
A Last Thought:
“Punctuality is the thief of time.” (Yes, this is related – think on it today)
Oscar Wilde
