The B5Media network:

Getting it Right the First Time?

Thought of the Day:

“Life is like a parachute jump: you have to get it right the first time.”
Margaret Mead

Thinking Outside of the Box:

I had to chuckle when I read this quote considering the history reference below. I bet that parachute jumper never thought he would become a metaphor but it suits my needs quite well, so be it. But I am not sure I agree with Margaret Mead. We dont have to get it right the first time our family, our friends, even God will give us second, third and just about as many chances as we need. I am a firm believer in a second chances. But, of course, I do not parachute.

This Day in History:

In 1797, André-Jacques Garnerin, made the first (of any consequence and incidentally lived to tell about it) parachute jump. He improved on Da Vinci’s design of a parachute and jumped out of a balloon 3,200 feet above Paris. (Hey, I didn’t say it would be smart things in history.) I wonder how he felt about second chances. As a side note, Garnerin was killed in a 8,000 foot jump 26 years later.

Arbitrary Thought of the Day:

“Too much of a good thing can be wonderful.” Mae West

Especially parachute jumps!!
